Sorting Data in a Row

Most people understand how to sort a column of data. Select the column then choose from the Data tab, the Sort option. This brings up the Sort dialog window.

However there are times where the data we want to sort is not in a column but rather in a row.

Well Excel allows you to sort rows. Here I have the same data from my above example except now it is in a row instead of a column.

To sort this data start by selecting the row and then just as above, select from the data tab then choose the Sort option. This brings up the Sort dialog window.

But this time in the Sort dialog window click the options button and choose Sort left to right.

Now you can sort your data in a row.
